To empower youth and adults to discover the benefits of exploring
free expression through the performing arts in a safe creative environment.
Background
Life Theater has been operating since 2008 under the direction of Chantell D. Christopher, owner and director. Life Theater
is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization for the Arts. Chantell has toured with Tyler Perry for several years performing in stage
play including “Madea Goes To Jail” as Vanessa; “Madea Class Reunion” as Ann; “What’s
Done in the Dark” as Mrs. Bowman. Life Theater has developed plays and movie shorts, including: “Why Am I Not
Married” stage play and movie short 2008; “Scene Night” 2008, 2009, 2010; “Cinderella’s Crunk
Christmas” 2010, 2011, 2012)
Programs
Group acting classes are offered related
to basic acting training and the business of acting. Private Lessons are offered for individual students who want one-on-one
training and training for auditions. Twice each year an Acting Expo is offered as an intensive weekend of acting training.
During the summer an Acting Summer Camp is held three separate times for students. In addition, theater events are held during
the year for students to have the opportunity to perform before audiences. There is a Scene Night in spring which exposes
the students to some of the greatest writer’s Neil Simon, August Wilson, Loraine Hansberry, and more then we have
Christmas play “Cinderella’s Crunk Christmas” that allow them to use improv skills in a structured environment.
Planning is under way to offer two more productions a year
